Y’know, I’d like to hang out with you. If you are free this evening, there’s a free show at the Brooklyn Night Bazaar. Psychic TV is playing, with some opening bands. There’s shopping and food there, too. It’s in the warehouse area, so parking would probably not be a problem. http://bkbazaar.com/
Psychic TV is great. The lead guitarist is pretty fabulous.
I’m gathering myself up to go out.

Sorry… I’m not doing well. It’s pretty bad.
Did you go to the show? And if so, how was it?
I was zooming in to see something and my phone decided to take a screen shot for some reason. Anyway, if you were to color a comic of mine, how would you do it? Like, ya’ know… You’d use the computer? Or like… So it by hand then clean it up i adobe stuff?

I’d use the computer. No shading. Flat color. I hate shaded comic book color; with few exceptions of gradiated sky here and there.
I did go to the show last night. It was pretty good. The opening band was horrible, I thought. I’ve seen Psychic TV the last two years they played as well, and I’m not sure if I’m getting used to the shows, or if they are putting forth less effort. The guitar player is really amazing, though.
I ran into some people I knew, which was nice. I’m trying to not be such a hermit. I’m also trying to make myself go to the Met and then to figure drawing at the Society of Illustrators every Tuesday. That seems like a good pattern to get myself into. Incentive for being a daytime person, too.
I’m really weighing the move to Fair Lawn. Being at the mercy of the midnight cutoff of public transport is really going to be painful. I mean, that show didn’t end until after midnight. I’d have missed half of it, if I had to catch a bus at Port Authority.
But…. how often do I go to shows? How hard would it be to find a bar to sit at til 4am on those nights, before getting the first bus of the morning home? *shrug* I don’t know.
Sorry you aren’t feeling well. How bad is “pretty bad”?
Do you know of anyone who’d be interested in being roommates with me and <boyfriend> in Fair Lawn for a few hundred a month? About $500 for a small bedroom in a big apartment with parking?
I’m having a sick day myself. Give a shout if you feel like chatting; with typed words of spoken ones.

You’re having a sick day yourself? Why do you say that?
What do you have? Body aches and/or cold?

My sickday is borne of exertions. The trekking around on Christmas Eve spending $150 on foodstuffs to bring to my Dad’s, then bussing there, then bussing back the next day and lugging our crap home from Port Authority. I’d not entirely recovered from all that, but had to carry about 8 pounds of kitten into Manhattan and back to get some shots, and decided to go to that Psychic TV show even though I was already in pain. I took enough Vicodin to get me there, danced to the music, and my body got to pay for everything yesterday. And today. My feet and my spine, man. And all that triggers neck stuff and headacheyness, which makes me nauseated.
Frustrating. I never used to get headaches very often until Aunt Mary’s. Now I get them all the time.
Now that I know what I’ve got, the connective tissue disorder Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, the pains make more sense. It seems that since my connective tissues are all loose and don’t keep my body tightly in place, my muscles are all constantly trying to take up the slack trying to keep me together. Constantly tightening, always in spasm, and any normal exertion leaves me feeling like I’d been lifting weights all day.
I really hate car culture, but I really have to start figuring out how to afford a car. I can’t take this stress on my body.
How ’bout you? Your sickness?
